Question: Tell us about the history and founding of Owner Operator Land.
Answer: Early on, we noticed a trend where owner-operators frequently moved from company to company because they struggled to find a freight company that matched their preferences and business goals. We started small, recruiting for one trucking business and later working with 3-4 freight companies. However, we quickly expanded due to the high demand for “matchmaking” between freight companies and fleet owners. By September 2017, we registered the recruiting company and began building our brand. Today, we partner with more than 40 carrier companies nationwide, providing support in multiple languages, including Spanish, Ukrainian, English, Amharic, and Swahili. Our plan is to grow our team of recruiters by 25% this year.

Answer: We specialize in recruiting and job search services for owner-operators. Our unique selling point is our efficient vetting process, which ensures owner-operators only share their sensitive information with the company they will work with. Fleet owners and owner-operators don’t have to go through the application process with each freight company – we do it for them and absolutely for free. We are constantly optimizing our operations and are about to launch a job search platform to further streamline the process.

Question: Can you share your career background and your journey to becoming the CEO of Owner Operator Land?
Answer: I’ve had an extensive career path, starting as a store manager at an electronics retail store. I later worked in business development at a bank and then as a distribution manager for a cellular service provider. Eventually, I found myself in logistics, booking loads, and later transitioning to recruiting for a small American trucking company.
It took three months to successfully hire my first driver, but we eventually built a robust recruiting system with over fifty recruiters across the US. What inspired me to start working in recruiting was seeing many new owner-operators in the industry struggle in the early stages of their businesses. I helped develop a system that genuinely cares for owner-operators, enabling them to feel supported and scale their businesses. This is what keeps us motivated.
